Using Raffle Tickets:Some tips from Steve Sugar, The Game ExpertRaffle tickets can be an effective way to encourage on-going participation. Use these tickets for prize drawings anytime during your session — after game play, following a break or at the end of the program.
Tip 1: Everyone can win! Give one raffle ticket to ALL participants at the beginning of the session. Following game play, award winning players additional tickets. Also, award a raffle ticket for exceptional participation or insights. Then have final drawings at the close of the session. This gives everyone a chance to win the prize drawing, with a slight edge to game winners and random awardees. p. 32, Primary Games, Sugar and Sugar
Tip 2: Award “return-from-break” prizes Collect one ticket from each participant. Place all tickets in a bowl. Announce the ticket drawing by ringing a bell or with a noisemaker. Select a ticket, but only award the prize to participants who are in the room. This encourages timely return from breaks.

Tip 3: Immediately Identify Winners Have
each participant sign the back of the ticket.
This allows you to immediately identify the winner and eliminates the
frantic search for tickets that usually accompanies a prize drawing.
