    TOOL OF THE MONTH

    Take your Time!

IF you keep track of time throughout your session using Timer Tools or some other timing device, and IF you don't lose too much time in transition, you truly can "take your time."

Here are some of the places where a time-keeping device can really work in your favor!

    • Introductions & Icebreakers
    • Games & exercises
    • Student presentations
    • Breaks
    • Q&A periods
    • Review & Reinforcements

    TIP OF THE MONTH

    Include EVERYONE in your session!

"You can't say, 'you can't play'," is a message that speaks for itself--to adults as well as to children. To children, it's an important socialization skill. To adults, it's an equally important team-building skill.

Adults may not say "you can't play," but they have been known to utter these unconstructive words:

    • "Sorry, we already have enough people on our team."
    • "No thank you, I'll do it myself."
    • "Play is not appropriate at work."

    TOY OF THE MONTH

This is your brain on learning!

The whole reason we facilitate learning it to expand students' minds and challenge their brains. What better toy to use for question answer games or stress reduction than a multi-color, palm-sized brain in the form of a squeeze ball.

Included in his tips (and explained in greater detail) are these important reminders:

    • Listen actively
    • Keep your cool
    • Don't get drawn into arguments
    • Know your audience
    • Get help
    • . . . and above all, tell the truth!
