Build strong teams

Set your teams to the formidable challenge of creating a multi-tiered Marble Run. Give them a set time frame and see how high or how large they can build their structure.  When the challenge is complete, find out what made it easy or difficult.  How did participants help or hinder the process? What learning can the team take forward into their workplace?

Stop Procrastination

It's a known fact that the sooner students apply or practice what they've learned, the better they'll remember it in the future. The corollary to this is sad but true: use it or lose it!

TIP: Encourage them to "Do it NOW."  Give each student a Round "TUIT" and ask them to try something they've newly learned within 24 hours and then email you with the confirmation and results.

TOY OF THE MONTH
LIGHT UP BALLS
Toss the ball to improve retention

Balls make wonderful, impromptu learning games.  Just toss a ball or other "throwable" to one of your students and ask them a question. Once they've answered, have them toss the ball to the next person who will be "up" for a question.

If you're reviewing more difficult content, break your group into teams so that players can work together on their answers and don't feel that they are put on the spot.  We've just introduced more than a dozen new balls to our "well-rounded" collection to add levity and fun to your learning games.
